Hamilton is a ground-breaking and critically acclaimed musical that has taken the world by storm! Book your Hamilton musical tickets in London's West End now!

‘I Am The A-L-E-X-A-N-D-E-R’ - The Story of Alexander Hamilton

Inspired by Ron Chernow's biography, Hamilton tells the story of Alexander Hamilton, an immigrant from the West Indies who became George Washington's right-hand man during the Revolutionary War and helped shape the foundations of the America we know today.

The musical explores both Hamilton's political and personal life, from humble beginnings in a small island in the Caribbean to becoming an integral piece of the early American government . It’s a tale of determination, rivalry, love, jealousy and heartbreak.

With music, lyrics, and book by Lin-Manuel Miranda, this sung-and-rapped-through musical has begun a revolution in musical theatre. Now playing at the Victoria Palace Theatre, Hamilton reimagines the traditional Broadway musical, infusing it with contemporary energy, a stunningly talented diverse cast and a musical blend of hip-hop, jazz, blues, rap, R&B and Broadway.

‘History Has Its Eyes On You’ - The History of Hamilton

Hamilton first premiered in a sold-out off-Broadway run in 2015 before opening at the Richard Rodgers Theatre on Broadway later that year to critical acclaim. A cast recording was released in 2016, which went on to win the Grammy Award for Best Musical Theatre album.

Hamilton's impact on Broadway was even more evident at the 2016 Tony Awards, where the musical received a record-breaking 16 nominations and won 11 awards, including Best Musical. The show also won the 2016 Pulitzer Prize for Drama, recognizing its profound impact on American theatre.

Across the Atlantic, Hamilton made its way to London's West End, premiering at the Victoria Palace Theatre in December 2017. It received similar critical acclaim to its Broadway counterpart, including Olivier Awards for Best New Musical, Outstanding Achievement in Music, and Best Actor in a Musical for Jamael Westman, who played Alexander Hamilton in the original London cast.

Hamilton, a recorded performance of the original Broadway cast, was released worldwide on Disney to stream in July 2020, during the Pandemic. The recording showcased the brilliant Lin-Manuel Miranda, the creator and original star of Hamilton, as Alexander Hamilton. He was joined by other incredible performers such as Phillipa Soo as Eliza Hamilton, Daveed Diggs as Marquis de Lafayette/Thomas Jefferson, Jonathan Groff as King George, and Leslie Odom Jr as Aaron Burr.
